Cooling Water Flow to Mechanical Seals
The figure shown here illustrates cooling/lubrication water supply to a mechanical seal. The mechanical seals have very fine clearances, yet a little bit of water must flow between the rotating interfaces to keep them cool and well lubricated. "A" shows the water supply line and "B" shows the return water line. The water used for cooling and lubrication must be clean and free of debris - use filtered and properly treated water.
