Lubrication oil condition

The figure provided here illustrates a sight glass installed on the side of the oil reservoir of a centrifugal pump. Notice that inspection can clearly determine if the condition of oil is good or bad. In the figure we see light golden colored oil which is free of foam and dark matter - clearly indicating a good condition.
