Split Case Pump - continued.
This figure shows a double suction split case pump. The top part of the graphic is the upper half of the volute casing. Notice bolt holes in the casing.
Notice the yellow-golden colored impeller in the pump housing. The suction side of the impeller is indicated by "A". A similar suction side exists on the other side as well. This type of pump is known as a "double suction" pump. The discharge side of the impeller is indicated by "B".
