Electrical Considerations
Locking out of electrical devices is much more complex in comparison to locking out of purely mechanical devices. To make sure employee safety is protected, for electrical work, OSHA has a designation defined as "qualified employee".
Qualified employees must be formally trained in the following:
a. How to recognize live electrical parts.
b. How to identify device voltage.
c. Appropriate safety precautions for various electrical devices and voltages.
