Gate Valve Details 1
This figure shows how a gate valve disc is seated to provide a perfect shut-off. The valve body is provided with seat rings (A), which are perfectly matched to the disc surface. When the disc is in full close position, the mating surfaces of the rings match those on the disc.
In this illustration the valve stem is indicated by B, and the disc guide is indicated by C.
