Essential Conditions for Optimum Combustion (3 Ts)

For optimum combustion the following conditions must be met:

a. TEMPERATURE must be sufficiently high in the furnace.

b. The furnace should be designed and operated to allow sufficient TIME for the combustion to complete its course.

c. Creation of TURBULENT conditions in the furnace allows optimum mixing between fuel and air.

The above conditions are sometimes referred to as the three T’s of the combustion process.
