Axial Flow Pumps

This type of turbine pump has only one stage and is typically used for low-pressure applications. The pumping unit is located at the bottom of the column housing. It is indicated by “A” in the illustration.

The incoming water is accepted in the pump through the suction bell located at the bottom of the pump and flows up axially along the shaft. The water is discharged from the discharge head indicated by “B” in the illustration.
