Introduction to a Real Boiler System - continued.Boiler: Section 5This section shows the induced draft fan (ID Fan). The purpose of this fan is to draw air from the main furnace we saw in Section 1. This fan provides much of the energy required for the flue gas to move from left to right. This fan sucks flue gas through the systems located on the left hand side and forces it into the stack (chimney). This figure shows the boiler stack (chimney). The purpose of the stack is to create a draft through the system and release the flue gas at a high elevation so that it can safely disperse through the atmosphere. |
