Safety and Environment

a. Clean oil spills immediately to avoid slipping hazards.

b. Rags or other disposable material used to clean lubricating oil is considered a hazardous waste. Make sure you understand and follow the employer’s hazardous waste handling procedures.

c. Do not dispose of any lubricating material in the ordinary sewage system.

Lubricant Handling

a. Wear protective gloves when handling lubricants.

b. Make sure lubricant drums are clearly identified with proper labels.

c. Make sure your day cans are labeled to identify the lubricant being carried in the can.

d. Do not mix lubricants.
