Basic Electric Circuit Formulas

In the previous discussion we learned that there is a relationship between voltage, current and resistance. This page provides formulas giving the relationship between these quantities.

The most common formula is: V = I x R

In the above figure you can see that if we know any of the two quantities, can calculate the third. In the following pages we will do some numerical exercises.

Notice the symbol for ohm, as shown above. In numerical questions, sometimes “ohm” is replaced by this symbol.
