Flexible Wedge Disc
The figure shown here illustrates the flexible disc design. In this design the two disc are actually connected at the center. While connected, each of the discs can move slightly independent of the other disc.
This design helps in prevention of “sticking” (or getting locked in place) under service conditions where normal range of temperature may be excessively wide.
