Personal Protective Equipment
All industrial workers are required to wear the necessary safety equipment. It is an OSHA regulation which must be followed. Your employer determines the type of safety gear you need for a particular job. You are required to follow the plant regulations.
Some of the common protective equipment is :
Safety Glasses: To protect your eyes from dust, splinters, chemical splashes, etc.
Ear Muffs or Ear Plugs: To protect your hearing.
Hard Hat: To protect your head against falling objects or bumping against pipes, etc.
Safety Shoes (hard toe): To protect your feet against slippery surfaces, falling objects, etc.
Aprons, rubber suits, etc.: To protect against chemical splashes.
