Double Acting Reciprocating Pump

This figure shows a double-acting reciprocating pump.

This design is provided with two suction ports (A and B,) and two discharge ports (C and D.)

In this design, the pump discharges liquid irrespective of whether the piston moves left or right. At all times, one or the other discharge valves is open - supplying liquid to the discharge side.
