AC Voltage Generation – continued.
In this page we are showing the actual voltage as the coil is rotated. The curve at the lower end of the graphic represents the voltage being developed as the coil moves.
Notice that at position A, no lines are being cut, therefore the voltage is zero.
At B, the maximum number of lines of force are being cut, therefore the voltage is at its maximum peak.
Again at C, no lines of force are being cut, therefore the generated voltage is zero.
At D, the generated voltage is at a maximum, but it is in opposite direction to what it was at B. This is so because the conductor movement has been reversed. What was moving up is now moving down and vice versa.
At E, again the movement of the conductor is in parallel to the lines of force, therefore no voltage is generated.
