Lever Class 2 - continued

A Class 2 Lever is characterized by:

a. L1 is greater than L2

b. F2 is greater than F1.

c. MA is greater than 1 (this means we can use a small force to lift a heavier weight).

d. F1 and F1 act in the same direction.

e. F2 is located between F1 and the fulcrum.

At the lower part of the illustration, all of the necessary formulas are provided. Notice that they are identical to what was shown for the class 1 lever.

A wheelbarrow is a good example of a class 2 lever.
